PermalinkOn 28 and 29 June, the Grand Chamber of the CJEU is to hear 6 cases concerning the Rule of Law in Poland. All hearing will be live-streamed via the CJEU website. 28 June: Case C-204/21 - Commission v Poland (the Muzzle Law), Cases C-615/20 - YP and Others, and C-671/20 - M. M. (suspension of judge Igor Tuleya by the sham Disciplinary Chamber). 29 June: Cases C-181/21 - G, and C-269/21 - BC and DC.

PermalinkDeclaration of state of emergency in Hungary allows Viktor Orbán to rule by decree. This was made possibile due to another change in Hungarian constitution: ‘state of danger’ includes now also ‘wars and conflicts in nearby countries’. Read Jakub Jaraczewski thread
